Associate - Buying & Merchandising



A comprehensive role which involves Range planning, assortment build up, Sales Analysis, and stakeholder management.


  • Responsible to optimize sales and business health for the category
  • Revenue
  • Margins
  • Pricing & Promotions
  • Financial analysis - Sales, Margin, Discount, and Inventory related analysis
  • Weekly and Monthly analysis and reporting
  • Range, Assortment and Business Planning
    • Assortment Planning – Data Analysis, Insights Generation, Options Planning (Width, Depth)
    • OTB Planning and management at brand-category level, season planning
    • Range level planning support – bets sizing, inventory planning
    • Effective planning and forecasting to maximize profitability
    • Competition & Market Analysis
    • Trend forecasts, identify white spaces and implement sale plans
  • Collaborative Partnership
  • Liaising with all stakeholders including category, design, sourcing, and PD
  • Coordinating with sales and marketing for the growth of category 

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA/NIFT/FDDI with 2-4 years of experience overall in fashion industry & retail business,
  • Experience in apparel category on either brand or retail side will be preferred
  • Experience / exposure to e-commerce will be an advantage
  • Product expertise along with strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong with numbers and in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data
  • Strong experience and skills in cross functional stakeholder management
