Roles & Responsibilities

Role:
A category manager within jewellery will focus on selection expansion, managing brand relationships, driving both topline and bottom-line and establishing operational hygiene. It requires end-to-end ownership of the allocated portfolio of brands and sub categories, and will
be responsible for delivering growth as well as profitability. A category manager is expected to improve customer shopping experience through curated selection expansion, ensure on-time supply of merchandise and continuous improvement in selection metrics like consideration, conversion & revenue per style. The role will also be expected to monitor and control inventory COGS (Cost of Goods sold) metrics and optimal DOH (Days on Hand) at a brand/sub category level.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete end to end ownership of driving portfolio AOP (Annual Operating Plan) revenue achievement profitably
  • Deliver on season brand mix plan & assortment mix plan season on season
  • Drive ASP (Average Selling Price) & GM (Gross Margin) target Month on Month
  • Maintain a strong relationship with vendor partners, brands, ensure timely supply of merchandise, assortment build up for marquee events
  • Selection expansion within portfolio, new brand onboarding, identify selection gaps and address through business development; oversee onboarding process end-to-end
  • Establish operational hygiene by setting up cross functional SOPs, ensuring adherence to same
  • Monitor customer demand, set pricing expectations with demand team
  • Close monetization targets for marketing investments with brands
  • Ensure even representation of portfolio brands on on-app properties
  • Inventory Management – Monitor Sell Through, Ageing-DOH and take time-appropriate action to reduce inventory COGS
  • Analyze portfolio performance and timely appraisal to category leaders on same

Qualifications & Experience:

  •  3-5 years of total work experience – Experience in Jewellery & accessories is an added advantage
  • Prior experience in online preferred- Sourcing experience is preferred.
  • Strong business analytic skills with proven examples of data led decision making
  • Solid Communication with proven examples of working with cross functional teams
  • Prior experience managing small teams
